We would like to extend our immense thanks and congratulations to Jennie, Alana and Jack, who recently completed the Vitality Big Half marathon in support of the Trust.
In the days leading in to the run the weather had been appalling but on the day the sky was blue and although it was chilly for spectators, the conditions were perfect for our trio.
Jennie, who ran in memory of her son, Nathaniel, was cheered on proudly by her daughter Annie (Nathaniel’s big sister). Jennie told us, “I was very pleased with my 2:22 time and it was a perfect weather day for a run, cold and dry! I’ve not done a London run before so it was amazing to be running past all the history.”
Jack and Alana were running their first half marathon in memory of Jack’s little friend, Tom. Alana said, “It was the biggest and hardest physical challenge I’ve ever done, and I never would have done it without Jack signing me up. So proud we made it to the finish line and I’m so glad it’s meant we have raised a lot of money and awareness for this important charity.” And Jack told us, “The run was really challenging, a lot harder than training runs due to the constantly changing weather, but we’re still bringing in sponsorship now and doubled our target so all for a good cause.”
Well done to you all – those medals were so well deserved – and thanks for your cheering on from the side-lines, Annie!
