Patrick became a huge supporter of the Myotubular Trust having been barber to a young boy, Joshua, who had myotubular myopathy.  In Patrick’s own words, “Knowing Joshua literally changed my life.”

Following Joshua’s death, Patrick, who had never before entertained running, took up the challenge  and has since completed numerous 10k runs, plus several Santa runs and half marathons.  In 2027, he will be running his first marathon – something he has been hoping to tick off of his bucket list for a few years.

Patrick recently ran the Manchester Half Marathon, and despite the fact that it was a little warmer than he would have liked (we had an unexpected May heat wave in the UK!) – as usual he made the most out of the event and he tells us he had a great time. In a few short weeks, Patrick is taking on the Tour of Tameside, 4 events, over 4 days, over trail and road  that he’s never previously done. Impressive!

We cannot thank Patrick enough for his years of running and support in Joshua’s honour.
