We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Alison Jenkins, who in the past two weeks has held no less than four fundraising events in memory of her little nephew, Nathaniel, raising a total of £2,600.

Alison had intended to hold just one event which involved a large scale show including clothes sale, music, raffle, drinks and a ballroom dancing display by championship dancers. There were so many guests due to attend that Alison had arranged a marquee, in addition to the Football Club she’d booked, for the overflow.

And then the snow began to fall just hours before the sale was to begin! Despite the fact that the snow was falling thick and fast, Alison went ahead with the event just in case some of the local guests arrived – and they did; raising a fantastic £1,300!

Not to be beaten by the weather and determined to raise £2,000, Alison decided to hold a further sale the following weekend to accommodate the guests who had been able to come along on the original evening. She also held two further events at work and which brought the total to £2,600 for the Trust and is already thinking about doing it all again next year.

We would like to thank all of Alison’s guests and the various companies who provided stock, clothes rails, raffle prizes and carrier bags to help make the events so successful. And finally, we would like to thank Alison for her determined support.
