We recently heard that one of our supporters, Norbert Kerek, was given the ‘Outstanding Innovative Idea’ award by his employers, Bibby Line Group. The award was given in recognition of Norbert’s fundraising for Myotubular Trust and for having raised awareness of myotubular myopathy which affects his son, Levente.
Norbert told us, “This is the first time I have ever received an award such as this, and it made me feel so happy. But this award is not only for me, it is also for the Myotubular Trust, and especially for all those colleagues and friends of mine who donated to support my son, Levente. The award means so much, and will forever sit proudly in my home.”
It is wonderful to see to see how much some companies and employers do to acknowledge and reward the time, effort and passion that their employees put in to ‘give something back’, volunteer, or support causes close to their hearts. Matched Funding schemes such as the one Bibby Line Group organise can make a huge difference to a small charity such as ours too.
