The 2019 Myotubular Trust grant call is now open.  Scientists from around the world are invited to apply to us for a research grant. The goal of their work must be to help find a cure or treatment for any of the forms of myotubular and centronuclear myopathy. This has been the aim of the Myotubular Trust since founding.

We founded the Trust in the hope that we could make a small difference with a little money. Since then we have raised over £2,000,000 with the help of many families and supporters, and funded 12 substantial research projects.  Our very first grant led to the gene therapy clinical trials which are currently in progress, and in 2019 we hope to see two more trials begin from other grants awarded by the Trust over the years – one in ‘turning down’ DNM2, and one in the use of the well known cancer drug, tamoxifen.
