Endless thanks to Dave and Karen who recently held their fifteenth annual golf day in memory of their beautiful son, Jack. Our thanks also to Jack’s little sister, Daisy, for her sales skills, and to all who took part in the tournament, and donated prizes. We remain so grateful to ‘Team Jack’ for their unending support for our charity.
Dave told us, “We have just held our annual golf day in memory of our son, Jack Adam Blunsdon. Jack died on his first birthday in January 2007 and we have held a golf day annually since in aid of charity, so this year was the 15th time.
This year’s event was held at Singing Hills golf course in Albourne, East Sussex. We had 47 golfers playing in a team format and this years event was won by Ashley Hefford, Andy McCarthy, Richard Vaughan and Ashley Towler. Nearest the pins trophies were won by Roy Hutchinson, Dave Bowyer and Sean McKeown.
Every player donated £11 as part of the entrance fee which all went to the Myotubular Trust charity to fund research. My partner, Karen, and daughter, Daisy, went round the course on a golf buggy selling refreshments and homemade brownies and cakes which raised over £100 this year! Also, I wrote to various golf courses asking if they could donate fourball vouchers which I auctioned off after the event which again proved very popular. In total, we raised £1981.01 for the Myotubular Trust which was a fantastic amount.”
