In early 2011 we heard from Nick who told us that he was taking part in the Brighton Marathon in April in memory of his friend’s son, Jack. Nick also mentioned that he was registering to take part in a second fundraiser: the London Hope Walk in May.
It was only when Nick set up his online fundraising page that we discovered that he was doing a third ‘hat trick’ fundraiser for the Trust: his first ever skydive on Easter’s Good Friday!
Despite having had an injury for some time, Nick completed the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 10th April and he told us that it was an absolutely amazing experience; the atmosphere was great and he really enjoyed the day and he has already registered to take part again in 2012.
Less than two weeks later, Nick did his first sky dive at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent. There was a training session in the morning and then it was time to go! Nick did a tandem skydive with an instructor which he described as unbelievable and an experience that he will never forget.
Then on May 7th, a damp Saturday morning, we met Nick on the train to Hampton Court as we headed off to take part in the London Hope Walk. Nick, and his wife Denise, were members of ‘Team Jack’ who came in force to support the walk. We were so pleased to have an opportunity to thank Nick in person for all that he had done to raise funds for the Trust and we were glad to see that he was still smiling when he completed his trio of events in Wandsworth Park!
Thank you so much Nick for your fantastic fundraising hat trick!
