On Sunday 10th April, Ali Ross completed the Brighton Marathon in memory of her friends, Karen and Dave’s son, Jack.
Despite the sunshine and heat on the day, Ali finished in a very impressive 4 hours and 54 seconds, and was quite rightly proud of her achievement. Ali told us that it was an amazing day; a day to remember for the rest of her life and that even having lost a few toenails along the way, it was totally worth it!
Ali had amazing support from her friends and family in the lead up to the marathon and one friend had even arranged a well deserved post-run massage for Ali which helped with the aching legs.
Friends have already been asking Ali whether she is going to run the marathon again next year and she is giving a firm ‘No’. Ali plans to watch her 8 year old son run in the mini mile instead next year; he finished 15th out of 165 this year and is clearly following in his mum’s footsteps.
We would like to extend our thanks, gratitude and congratulations to Ali for such an amazing achievement and for having raised so much sponsorship in Jack’s memory.
