The second Liverpool Hope Walk took place on a sunny and warm September morning and what a crowd it attracted. 157 people were registered and we cannot describe how it felt to see so many of our supporters wearing their Myotubular Trust t-shirts. The children looked especially cute in their oversized t-shirts and they were all utter superstars.
Among the throng were many long-term supporters and it was, as always, great to see them. Likewise, we were so lucky to have welcomed a small army of new supporters this year too. The opportunity to see and meet the very people who make the work of the Myotubular Trust possible is always a very humbling and special experience for us and is a highlight on our calendar.
There simply wouldn’t be a Liverpool Hope Walk without our friends, Kate and James, who organised and vetted the fantastic route for us in memory of their precious son, Noah. We are so very grateful to them for inspiring this hugely popular and successful walk.
A special mention to our friends from Team Jack who were with us in Liverpool and especially to Jack’s mum, Karen, who joined us at all three of our Hope Walks this year and was instrumental in helping behind the scenes on the day too, as was Jack’s little sister, Daisy.
For two families, it was their first time participating in a Myotubular Trust event. It was so very special having them, and their beautiful little boys, alongside us. It’s fair to say that their little ones stole many hearts that day. ❤️
We would also like to acknowledge Patrick, who walked in memory of Joshua, and Andrea and Joanne who walked in memory of Rubén. Patrick was Joshua’s barber and Andrea and Joanne heard about Rubén from his grandmother who is a customer where they work.
And we cannot forget Lindsay who was at the half way mark with drinks, fruit and biscuits. What a very welcome surprise!
We absolutely love the stunning group photos which were taken by Alex and Daisy. Special thanks to them and to all who shared their own photos with us for you to enjoy below. They really do depict the atmosphere from the day – unity, hope and reflection.
And as a final thought…between us we covered over 1,500km….that is an awful lot of steps towards hope…
Huge thanks to all who made the day so memorable and special. It was a great ‘wrap’ to the 2026 Hope Walks which, between them, have raised over £30,000, every penny of which will be used to fund research.
Thanks so very much, as always, for your brilliant help!
